    What does EnviroHub monitor?

EnviroHub units treat waste water to enable re-use within site processes and enable fully compliant discharge offsite when required.

Suspended solids in water can be removed by slowing the flow and creating conditions for solids to settle out. This can be achieved in several ways, depending on the amount of settling required. This separation provides cleaner water for re-use or discharge and a solids sludge for disposal

pH of process water is measured using a probe and then can be corrected by the addition of chemicals in gas or liquid form, neutralising the pH to within discharge limits, which then allows for safe disposal

Many sites that discharge water have a limit on the volume they can send off site in a given time period. Pulse flow metres enable accurate monitoring and reporting of the volume of water discharged. Flows can be slowed down if required to bring within discharge permit limits, enabling compliance.

Environmental responsibility can significantly contribute to corporate success

EnviroHub is a control system designed for the quarrying and construction industries to treat, monitor and report on water quality onsite

A site may accumulate water from the ground when digging or from heavy rainfall, use water in their production processes or to wash down equipment after use. As a result, there can be contaminants in the water which can cause problems on site and be harmful to the environment.

In England, any water to be discharged from site that does not meet the EA exemptions needs to be notified to the EA who will issue a permit setting out the conditions in which discharge can take place. These conditions can include limits on Total Suspended Solids (TSS), pH, flow and temperature amongst other things.

With sites now required to provide proof of safe water disposal and water quality checks being routinely carried out by the EA, a robust monitoring system such as EnviroHub plays a vital role. In addition to monitoring and reporting on water quality onsite, EnviroHub can inform the site if the water is unsafe to discharge and can automatically intervene.

With the addition of treatment units, the system can also ensure that water is treated prior to discharge and free of pollutants. Disposing of water that is not compliant to a discharge permit can result in heavy fines, with the potential to severely damage a company’s reputation
